Mrs. Ada Talley West, age 86 of Dawsonville, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2006 at Gateway Healthcare Center following a period of declining health.
Born on May 15, 1920 and a native of Erwin, Tennessee, Mrs. West had lived in Haywood County, North Carolina since childhood. She was the daughter of the late John R. and Hattie Ann Duffey Talley and was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Harvey West, who died in 1994; daughters, Janice Burch and Elizabeth Evans Miller; son, James E. West; sisters, Pearl, Mae, and Lassie; brothers, Rex, Lester, Jess, Ike, Bill, and Harry Talley. Mrs. West retired from Wellco Corporation in 1982 after 32 years of loyal service.
Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Joyce and Jay Swanger, Dawsonville; daughters, Marie Morrison and Dorothy Price, both of Chester, SC; sons and daughter-in-laws, Floyd H. and Sherry West, Troy and Phyllis West, all of Balsam; brother, John R. Talley, Jr., Bridgeton, NJ; 24 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 33 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 04, 2006 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Swanger officiating. Burial will follow in the Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park.
