Allen "Gene" Saxon

Allen “Gene” Saxon, age 70 of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Winder Health Care. Mr. Saxon was born April 30, 1944 in Cleveland, GA to the late Andrew and Pauline Brown Saxon. He was a Mason and a member of the Norcross Lodge # 228 F & AM. Gene was a Shriner and a member of the Yaarab Shrine Temple in Atlanta. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Scott Saxon, brothers Junior Saxon, Tom Saxon and Bobby Saxon. Survivors include his son, Perry Saxon, Gainesville; sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Bobby Bowers, Auburn, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Barbara Saxon, Sugar Hill; grandchildren, Marilynn Saxon, Patrick Saxon, Connor Saxon; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, March 21, 2015 at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Rolland Jackson will officiate. Interment will follow at Cleveland Historic Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
