Allen Roy Mccallister

Allen Roy “Buck” McCallister, age 53, of Murrayville, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. Mr. McCallister was born on November 12, 1969, in Habersham County, to Marie McCallister and the late Leroy McCallister. He worked for the City of Dahlonega as manager for the wastewater plant and attended Solid Rock Baptist Church. Buck enjoyed bass fishing, working in his garden, and playing and coaching baseball and softball. He was affectionately known as “Big Poppy” to his grandchildren. Buck loved everyone and had a nickname for them all. Survivors include his wife, Elaina McCallister; daughter, Stacie England; son, Tracy McCallister; mother, Marie McCallister; grandchildren, Jonathan England, Tommy England, and Aylee England; sisters and brothers-in-law, Katie and Eric Drum and Angie and Bodie Loggins; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 12, 2023, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Keith “Scooty” McCallister, the Rev. Kris Butler, and the Rev. Josh Matthews will officiate. Interment will follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
