Allene Wood

Allene Wood “Pug”, age 84 of Dahlonega, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021.

Mrs. Wood was born January 15, 1937 in Lumpkin County to the late James Bernard Smith and Lona Irene Jarrard Smith. Allene was a proud member of Welcome Worship Center and the Chestatee Sunshine Club. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William G. “Bill” Wood, sons, Gordon Bryan “Chop” Wood and Leonard Vincent “Vince” Wood.

Survivors include her daughter, Regina Wood, Dahlonega; grandchildren, Jon Collis (Melody), Beth Watts (Josh), Chris Garner; Kelly Cullens (Danny); great grandchildren, Tyler and Nathan Collis, Bella and Hunter Watts, Matthews Cullens, Clayton and Jacob Carr; siblings, Jimmie Nell Nix, Carl Smith, Bud Smith, Mary Shelnut (Harold), Martha Loggins, Russell Smith, Lillian Dockery; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Welcome Worship Center. The Rev. Jimmy Peck will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

Flowers will be acknowledged however the family kindly asks donations be made to Welcome Worship Center
