Almer (Buddy) Allen

Mr. Almer Buddy Allen age 75 of Cleveland passed away Sunday October 5, 2008 at a Private Healthcare Center following an extended illness. Mr. Allen was born in White County the son of the late Jessie Eugene and Ruby Pepper Allen. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eufah Allen, sons, Alton Allen, Kenneth Allen and brother, Donald Allen. Mr. Allen was a Veteran serving in the U.S. Army and was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include son, Richard Allen, Keysville, VA.; daughters, Joyce Bennett, Teresa Phelps, both of Keysville, VA.; daughter in law, Gayle Allen, Keysville, VA.; sisters, Rowena Meadows, Cornelia, Eloise Ledford, Doris Nix, both of Cleveland; brother, Elmer Allen, Cleveland; step daughters, Brenda Allen Winder, Cathy Gooch, Denise Minish, Becky Ferguson, all of Cleveland; step sons, Jerry Gooch, Tommy Ramey, both of Cleveland; 21 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday October 7, 2008 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home.The Rev. Dave Fortner and the Rev. Chris Anderson will officiate. Interment will follow in Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
