Alton Artis Wofford

Alton Artis Wofford, age 82, of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018.   Mr. Wofford was born on March 12, 1936, in Cleveland, Georgia, to the late Oliver and Elvie Thomas Wofford.  Before retirement, Alton worked for the Removal Transport Service.  He was a member of the Yonah Lodge # 382 F&AM and was a veteran of the United States Army.  Alton was preceded in death by an infant son, Ricky Artis Wofford; siblings, Homer Wofford, Mary Roper, Bonnell Hamby, and Buster Wofford.   The family would like to give a special thanks to the Hospice of Northeast Georgia and especially to the nurses Rebecca, Devra, and Kara.   Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Joyce Wofford, Cleveland; son, Tony Wofford, Cleveland.   Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home.  The Rev. Brandon Hester and the Rev. Dennis Turner, and the Rev. Travis Gatson will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Yonah View Memorial Gardens.   The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 P.M.
