Anne Christy Kent, age 84, of Cleveland, Georgia, passed away on September 20, 2025. She was born on February 11, 1941, in Cleveland, Georgia, to the late H.H. Christy and Jesse Mae Helton Kent. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Christy, and brother-in-law, Barnett Humphries. Anne is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Charles D. Kent of Cleveland; children, Tony Kent (Maria) of Cleveland and Terry Enslow of Cleveland; siblings, Betty Humphries, Eva Nix (Gene), and Linda Leslie (Tom); grandchildren, Ty Kent (Jenn) and Andrew Combs; great-grandchildren, Devyn Kent, Remi Kent, and Baylor Kent. Numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends also survive. A proud graduate of White County High School’s Class of 1959, Anne cherished the lifelong friendships formed with her classmates. After graduation, she answered the call to serve her country in the United States Air Force. Following her honorable discharge, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she began a distinguished career as a mortgage loan underwriter. While in Atlanta, she met and married the love of her life, Charles, and together they built a life filled with love, family, and adventure. After retirement, Anne and Charles traveled the world, making treasured memories on trips to Europe, the American West, and the Northeast. She was a gifted crocheter, creating toys and blankets for her grandchildren, who lovingly knew her as “super mom” and the best grandmother in the world. Anne’s home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the love of family. She delighted in encouraging her children and grandchildren in their activities, from sports and school to community programs such as the local library’s book club. Anne will be remembered for her deep love for her family, her joyful spirit, and her unwavering devotion to those she cherished most. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, in the chapel of Barrett Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Anderson officiating.
