Rebecca Anne Hollingsworth Palmer, known as Anne to her family and friends, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at the age of 96. Born on April 16, 1928, in Robertstown, Georgia to Edward and Annie Patton Hollingsworth, Anne was the youngest of five girls. She attended Nacoochee High School. At the age of 15, she met her love, Robert, and they were married during his Army furlough on April 10, 1945, at the White County Courthouse. Anne was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved reading, gardening, cheering on the Braves, and spending time with her family. She was most content at home, but she enjoyed vacationing at the beach each year with her son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughters. She is survived by her two sons, Dennis Palmer of Roswell, GA and Bruce Palmer of Cleveland; her granddaughters, Holly Blackwell (Matt) of Roswell, GA and Melissa Solomon (T.J.) of Arlington Heights, IL; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Caroline, Maggie, Leah, and Ben. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Robert J. Palmer; her daughter-in-law, Roberta Hamling Palmer; her parents, and her sisters, Alva Kimsey, Dorothy Rogers, Ruth Seymour, and Nellie Reese. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Cleveland First Baptist Church. The Rev. Dennis Turner and Gary Hefner will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately afterwards in the Fellowship Hall of the church. Interment will take place at Gateway Memory Park.
