Mrs. Barbara Gwendolyn “Gwen” Thompson Cobb, age 75 of Rockmart, Georgia formerly of Cleveland passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Heartland Hospice following an extended illness. Born in Griffin, Georgia on April 18, 1932, Mrs. Cobb was a homemaker and had lived in Cleveland for many years before moving to Rockmart 6 years ago. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Henry Cobb, Rockmart, Georgia formerly of Cleveland; daughter and son-in-law, Caye and Lee Burch, Rockmart; gandchildren, Robert Burch, Cartersville; Ben Burch, Rockmart; nephews, Leon Thompson, Atlanta, Ronnie Thompson, Griffin; nieces, Brenda McCook, Macon, Gwen Thompson, Macon, Sara Gunter, Griffin; great nephews, Michael Thompson and Robert Jones Thompson; great nieces, Merideth McCook and Hilary Thompson and other relatives and friends. Graveside services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at the Yonah View Memorial Gardens in Cleveland. The Rev. Aubrey McIntyre will officiate.
