Benjamin Allen

Mr. Benjamin “Benny” Franklin Allen, age 80, of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

Mr. Allen was born on December 8, 1945, in Cleveland, GA to the late Charlie and Vennie Lou Allen. Benny enjoyed fishing, camping and being in the outdoors. He was a true craftsman making knives out of old saw blades and shared them with people all over the United States. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Buford Allen and sister Bonnie Cochran.

Survivors include his wife, Idell Allen, son, James Allen, grandchildren, Samantha Richards, James Cody Allen; great grandson Kendall Richards; sisters Nellie Mae Ward, Merle Fowler (Wayne), and brothers, Charlie (Janice), Rondal, and Felix Allen (Sherry).

A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday September 17, 2026, at the Nix Family Cemetery, 2444 Tesnatee Gap Valley Rd. Cleveland, GA 30528.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1:30 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
