Betty D. Abernathy

Betty Doris Abernathy, age 77, of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2020.   Mrs. Abernathy was born on January 24, 1943, in Gainesville, Georgia, to the late Arthur and Beatrice Irvin Goss.  In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Winford Abernathy; son, David Abernathy; and daughter, Karen Abernathy.  Mrs. Abernathy worked for the White County School System and was of the Christian Faith.    Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Darryl Carter, Cleveland, and Wanda and Tony Brewster, Dahlonega; grandchildren, Shane, Crystal, Ethan, Greg, and Shannon; and sisters, Sue and Janie.   The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at the funeral home.   Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to the charity of your choice.   Inurnment will be at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery at a later date.   To share a memory or to leave a condolence, please visit www.barrettfh.com.   Barrett Funeral Home of Cleveland.
