Betty Adams

Betty Shewbert Adams, age 93 of Cleveland Ga, passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born on June 23, 1928 to the late Buford Vinson “B.V.” Shewbert and Bonnie Caudell Shewbert. She was a member at Mt. Yonah Baptist Church where she actively served until illness prevented. She enjoyed helping in the organization of all special events helping behind the scenes to decorate and serve others. Betty also was an active member of the Mt. Yonah Chapter #405 Order of the Eastern Star. She was awarded her 50-year pen in 2008. Along with her parents, Mrs. Adams is preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Adams, son, Larry Adams, and brother, Buford Shewbert. The family would like to express special appreciation to Hospice of North Georgia Medical Center for their outstanding care and concern for the last months of our Mother’s life. She had the absolute best team possible led by Sherry, Cindy, and Rebecca. Betty is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lynette and James Harper, daughter-in-law, Diane Adams, sister-in-law, Dallette Shewbert, grandchildren; Dede and Angile Dyer, Lori and Tim Easterling, Allyson Harper, Sheila Walker, Andrea and Jason Brown, great grandchildren; Adam and Maggie Dyer, Tucker and Carley Dyer, Kelsey and Taylor Chapman, Hannah and Julian Benton, Haleigh and Ryan McCain, Jake Brown and Claire Brown, great-great grandchildren and her true joys in her finals days, Sutton, Winnie Kate, Palmer Kate, and Jack Carver. Funeral services are scheduled for 1pm Saturday, July 3, 2021, at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Doug Merck, and Rev. Dan Crumley will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Yonah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5pm – 8pm, Friday July 2, 2021, at Barrett Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Betty's memory to Mt.
