Billy Wood

Billy Wood, age 85 of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2019.   Mr. Wood was born on September 15, 1933, in Gordon County, Georgia, to the late Odell and Thelma McIntyre Wood.   Billy and his beloved wife, Becky Garrison Wood, met as students at North Georgia College in Dahlonega and were married 60 years before she preceded him in death in 2013. They raised their family in Gainesville, Georgia and Hilton Head, South Carolina before returning to the north Georgia mountains in 1989.   Billy was graduated from North Georgia College in 1973, and during his career he owned and operated successful appliance sales and service businesses.   Above all else, Billy will be remembered for his lifelong belief in Jesus Christ, his love for his family and friends, and his servant heart that touched everyone he met.   Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Gyni Wood, James and Deena Wood, and Charles and Katrina Wood; grandchildren, Gary Wood and wife Jenny, Bethany Fox and husband Sean, Laura Scott and husband Peter, Whitney Pass and husband Brandon, Christine Ross and husband Jonathan, Anthony Wood and wife K.C., Jonathan Wood; great granddaughters, Georgia Anne Wood, Sienna Fox, Londyn Fox, Ava Pass, Reaghan Pass, Lily Kate Pass, Adalynn Pass, Mikayla Wood; great grandson, Carson Fox.   Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 11, 2019 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home.  Dr. Bill Hutcheson will officiate.
