Mr. Bobby Marion “Bobby” Pruitt, Sr. was born September 26, 1942 to the late Julius Ballet Pruitt and Ethel Mary Ann (M.E.) Jenkins. Bobby departed this life Saturday June 24, 2023 at the age of 80 while being at the Hospice Family Care Facility of Huntsville, AL for a very short period of time. At an early age he confessed Christ and so joined the St. John Baptist Church of Cleveland, GA Bobby was married to Mrs. Dorothy Blackwell April 12, 1981, to this union was born two daughters: Karis P. (Neil) Lewis of Huntsville, AL and K. Danyel P. (Steven) Morrison of Huston, TX. He was previously married to Mrs. Mazel McCowan Wheeler to this union was born Sarah Thomas, Chattanooga, TN, Cheryl Thomas, New York,NY, Robert M. (Tammie) Pruitt, Rocky Face, GA, Cedrick Pruitt, Naomi P. Fields, Patricia “Trina” Pruitt, Juliette P. (Alvin) Williams all of Atlanta, GA and Jeanette P. (Lydell) Stroud, Dallas, GA. Before, He was closely associated with Mrs. Betsy Chapman Bush to birth a son Michael Anthony Pruitt. Bobby is preceded in death by his son Michael Pruitt, and grandson Joshua Lee Stroud, five brothers Julius, Lester, Harold, Willie and Lamar. Bobby is survived by his wife of 41 years and children. 22 grandchildren: Fransiscis “Bianca” Lipscomb Franklin, Robert P, Jr., Ryan, Rodrick, Justina, Caleb and Corey. Cedrick P, Jr., Nicholas, Angel, Asher, Dakita and Noah., Robert Fields, Joseph P, Che’ri P., Timothy Everson, Cashara E., and Terrell Williams, Jasmine Chanel Stroud, Paris Juwell, and Lydell R. Jr., Asher and Allora Lewis, Nirel, Nathanael, Adriel, and Zuriel Y. Morrison due July 2023 and 18 great grandchildren, two brothers Johnny I. Pruitt and Roy M. Pruitt both of Atlanta, GA, one, sister Gloria P. Sutton of Cleveland, GA. A great host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Bobby worked and retired from Nabisco Confectionary Baker Co. of Atlanta, Ga after 20 years the last one as a security guard and began his lawn care business mostly odd jobs for family and friends. He loved motorcycles and riding with friends. He loved roller skating he was the king on wheels with his brothers Johnny, Roy and friends. He enjoyed camping in the Georgia Mountains. He loved singing for the Lord one of his favorites was (It’s Gonna Rain) the group was called Brothers-of-Joy. Bobby joined and served faithfully as a deacon in the Seventh Day Adventist for more than 35 years until his health would not permit. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Mt. Yonah Cemetery.
