Calvin Garrett

Mr. Calvin Garrett age 70 of Cleveland passed away Sunday April 19, 2009 at Northeast Ga Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Garrett was born in Towns County the son of the late Jimmy and Vassie Taylor Garrett. He was a retired Engineer at Lockheed Corporation. Survivors include his wife, Gladys Y. (Vonzie) Garrett, Cleveland; daughters and sons in law, Donna and Joe Barnes, Gainesville, Crystal and Mike Blalock,Cleveland; daughter, Henrietta Becker, Cleveland; son and daughter in law, Calvin (Bo) and Jessica Garrett, Cleveland; grandchildren, Isaiah and Ashley Mealor, Homer, Alex Blalock, Courtney Blalock, Cooper John Garrett, Dylan Hendrix, all of Cleveland; Tommy Becker and Glenn Becker of Florida; sisters, Evie Adams, Kate Chastain, both of Sautee, Lorene Halford, Clarkesville, Sue Shelnut, Virginia (Ginger) Brown, both of Cleveland; brothers, Vaughn Garrett, Bud Garrett, both of Cleveland. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday April 21, 2009 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Anthony Shore, the Rev. Marc Turner and the Rev. Steve Brannon and Jeff Shelnut will officiate. Interment will be in Yonah View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-9 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
