Candina Maria Jordan

Ms. Candina Maria Jordan, age 55, of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026.

Candina was raised in Barnwell, SC and graduated from Barnwell High School. She received her BA in Philosophy from University of South Carolina and lived in Columbia SC for over 20 years. She worked in creative fields throughout her life, as an artist, educator, photographer, and writer. She was a member of the National Association of Science Writers. She was an avid hiker and camper. She moved to Cleveland GA in 2014 and became an active member of the community, a leader for Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, a volunteer in her church nursery and many other youth organizations. Candina was a selfless, loving mother, wife, sister, mentor and friend.

Survivors include her children, Caroline Victoria (Hutchings) Turner (Kenneth Turner), Noel Julian Hutchings, and John Robert “Jack” Butcher; grandchildren, Delilah Roux Turner and David Logan Turner.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Collins Langley and father, Herman “Bobby” Jordan.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Thursday, March 5, 2026, at The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection with the Rev. Dean Taylor officiating. Candina's art and photography will be on display and everyone is welcome
