Mr. Carl Jerry London, age 68, of Cleveland died Saturday May 15, 2010 at the Atlanta Veteran’s Medical Center in Decatur following a long and courageous battle with Leukemia.
Mr. London was born , November 19, 1941, in Habersham County to the late Thomas Leonard and Viola Barrett London. He was a 1963 graduate of the University of Georgia and served as a United States Air Force pilot during the Vietnam era. He was a member of the Demosthenian Literary Society and Gridiron. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Barrett London.
Mr. London is survived by his wife, Madge Blalock London of Cleveland; son and daughter in law, Carl, Jr. and Bridget London of Duluth; daughter and son in law, Lana and Greg Bell of Anchorage, AK; grandchildren, John Christopher Bell and Kathleen Marie Bell of Anchorage, AK; brothers, Verner London, Maylon London and Lamar London of Cleveland, Charles London of Demorest and Douglas London of Westfield, MA; sisters, Eulene Murphy and Imogene Kimbrell of Cornelia, and Ellora Montgomery of McCormick, SC.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held at Gateway Memory Park on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 11 a.m. The Rev. J.D. Sosebee and the Rev. Marc Turner will
officiate.
The family will receive friends at the Cleveland Worship Center Fellowship Hall immediately following the service.
