Carmel Inez Ash

Carmel Inez Ash, age 94 of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Friendship Nursing Home. Mrs. Ash was born March 9, 1916 in White County to the late Henry and Alma Freeman Chambers. She was a homemaker and a member of Blue Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Ash was preceded in death by her husband, John Erwin Ash Sr., son, John Erwin Ash Jr., daughter, Joyce Ash Raby, brother, Garvice Chambers. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Lillie Ash, Cornelia; grandchildren, Johnnie Dover, Cleveland; Robin Ash, Mt. Airy; Chad Ash, Demorest; Sherry Gailey, Cleveland; Jake Raby, Commerce; great-grandchildren, Kaley Dover, D.J. Dover, both of Cleveland; Bryce Ash, Jenna Ash, both of Demorest; special niece, Charlotte Camp, Hampton; special nephew, Wayne Chambers, Cleveland. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 29, 2011 from Blue Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Milton Harris and the Rev. Dave Fortner will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-9 PM Friday and again on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
