Carol May Metz

Carol May Metz, age 81, of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022. Ms. Metz was born on April 6, 1940, in St. Joseph, Missouri, to the late Nelson and Kathryn Coy Cook. Carol grew up at Patee Park Baptist Church in Missouri, where she later became church secretary. Carol moved to White County a number of years ago from the Atlanta area. She was a very dedicated church member at Mt. Yonah Baptist Church. Carol was very involved with the youth and enjoyed oil painting and many other activities. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Lee Cooper. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and William Gooch, Clarkesville; son and daughter-in-law, William and Rana Metz, McDonough; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Sunday, February 13, 2022, at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Andee Courson will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt.
