Carolyn Franz Britcher

Carolyn Frantz Britcher of Sautee went home to be with the Lord on May 25, 2011 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. She was 82. Carolyn was born on October 5, 1928 in Martelle, IA. She was the youngest of seven children and grew up on her family’s farm. It was there that her love and compassion for animals began. She married Bob Britcher in 1948 and became a homemaker, giving birth to two daughters and moving with her family to Hollywood, FL. She and Bob retired to their lake house in Sebring, FL, and she eventually moved to Haines City, FL and finally to Sautee, GA to live with family. Carolyn is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Jim Nelson of Sautee: son-in-law, Philip Ireland of St. Augustine, FL; grandchildren: Carrie and Iain Morrison of Suison City, CA; Jesse and Beth Ireland, St. Augustine, FL; Sara and Chad Hawley, Cumming; Rachel and Mark Gary, Cleveland; great-grandchildren: Kristopher, Philip, Kyleigh, Justus, and Jackson; sisters: Louise Gossett of Avon Park, FL and Doris Ireland of Canton, NC; sister-in-law: Wilma Frantz, Martelle, ID. She is preceded in death by her husband Bob and daughter Kris. A memorial service celebrating Carolyn’s life will be held in June. Barrett Funeral Home, Cleveland, GA
