Cathryn Allison Mccarter

Cathryn Allison McCarter, age 90 of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. McCarter was born November 28, 1921 in White County to the late Frank M. and Martha West Allison. She was a homemaker, a member of the Blue Ridge Goodwill Circle and a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Cleveland. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl McCarter, her oldest daughter Marlene Garrett, grandson Jimmy Garrett, 7 sisters and 2 brothers. Survivors include her daughters, Glenda Dorsey and Kathy Rogers; sister, Mildred Jarrard; grandchildren, Chuck Pruitt, Lesa Barrett, Kevin Dorsey, Emily Gerrell, Casey Rogers and Mandy Rogers; 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM Sunday, October 28, 2012 from the Antioch Baptist Church. The Rev. Phillip Robinson and the Rev. Carol Pruitt will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Mrs. McCarter will lie in state at the Church from 2:30-3:00 PM Sunday prior to the service.
