Charles Barrett

Mr. Charles Ralph Barrett, age 80 of Cleveland, passed away Friday, January 11, 2019.   Charles was born February 27, 1938 in Cleveland, GA to the late Carl and Cleo Todd Barrett. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ray Barrett. Mr. Barrett was a member of Chattahoochee Baptist Church and was the owner and operator of Barrett Used Cars. Charles had a very successful racing career, racing at many different levels most notably the NASCAR Cup Series. Charles was inducted into the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame in 2013.   Survivors include his wife, Alwayne Barrett, Cleveland; sons and daughters-in-law, Mitchell and Tammy Barrett, Cleveland; Kevin and Vonda Barrett, Cleveland; grandchildren, Chanda Barrett Sheredy and Eric Sheredy; Tiffany Barrett Stackhouse and Mark Stackhouse; Brittany Barrett Pittman and Brett Pittman; Kevin Barrett Jr. and Briana Barrett; Charlie and Amber Barrett; great grandchildren, Kasen Barrett, Kolston Barrett, Mavrik Jayde Barrett, Barrett Sheredy, Palmer Sheredy, Connolly Sheredy, Maple Pittman, Blossom Pittman, Claude Pittman, Canaan Stackhouse and Luke Stackhouse; brother, Telford Barrett; sister, Mildred Dean.   Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, January 14, 2019 at Chattahoochee Baptist Church. The Rev. Chris Anderson, Rev. Bill Gravely and Rev. Garvis Kinsey will officiate.
