Charles (C.E.) Elbert Kanady

Charles Elbert (C.E.) Kanady, age 75 of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012 following an extended illness. Mr. Kanady was born on August 28, 1936 in Cleveland to the late J.D and Mable May Kanady. He was also preceded in death by daughters: Machell Kanady and Kandy Malone. Mr. Kanady was a retired truck driver for Pilgrim Trucking. Survivors include wife: Mary Ann Steffunick Kanady, Cleveland; son and daughter in law: Charles & Rachel Kanady, Jr., Sautee; daughter and son in law: Donna & Clay Rogers, Cleveland; daughter: Tina Gorrell, Maysville; daughters and sons in law: Harriette & Roger Truelove, Cleveland; Abby & Kevin Dale, Cleveland; son and daughter in law: Chris & Beth Kanady, Athens; daughter: Sherry Kuzee, Grand Rapids, MI; sons: Terry Malone & Skip Moyer, both of Cleveland; daughter: Kelly Moyer, Lansing MI; daughter and son in law: Maranda & Jamie Lee, Cleveland; brother, J.R. Kanady, Cleveland ; sisters: Carolyn Gilreath, Cleveland and Charlotte Sutton, Cleveland; 25 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 23, 2012 in the chapel of Barrett Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Anderson, Rev Paul Flynn, Rev. Mike Irvin and Rev. Bill Towe officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. View Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 on Thursday at the funeral home.
