Charles "Chuck" Payne, Jr.

Charles “Chuck” Emanuel Payne, Jr., age 66, of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026.

Mr. Payne was born on April 5, 1959, in Union County, to the late Charles E. Payne, Sr. and Sarah Ruth Dyer Payne. He was a welder at B&M Machine Fabrication. In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his brother, Michael “Shorty” Payne; brother-in-law, Michael Tow.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Mary Beth and Chris Mays; son, Matthew Payne; sisters, Jeanette Tow and Sandra Lee (Kip); brothers, Gary Payne (Rena) and Paul Payne (Vicki); special friend, Brandy Passmore.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 19, 2026, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Danny Kastner and the Rev. Jeremy Kastner will officiate. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home, prior to the funeral service.
