Charles Robert Dreher, age 84 of Cleveland, passed away Friday, July 3, 2026.
It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of Charles "Chuck" Robert Dreher, a cherished husband and loving father, on July 3, 2026, at the age of 84. Born August 21, 1941, in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late Gertrude Dreher-Bochicco and stepson of the late Joseph Bochicco.
Chuck led a full life of service, touching so many along the way. He served in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964 as a lead mechanic on the B-52 Bomber jets, and he was always so proud of his country and honored to have served.
Upon his return, Chuck earned his Real Estate license in Brick, NJ. He quickly rose through the ranks at Berg Real Estate, which transferred him first to Tampa, FL to open branch offices, and then to Margate, FL to continue the company's successful expansion. He later moved to Sautee, GA, where he opened his own real estate company while also owning and operating a local grocery retail business. During this time, Chuck established the first Realtors Association for White County, serving as its President for several years, and taught Real Estate ethics in north Georgia, rounding out more than 40 years in the real estate profession. In retirement, Chuck became deeply involved in serving and leading at his beloved church, Cleveland First Methodist, where he served as the head Usher and helped lead the men's group. It was here that Chuck always felt most at home, serving his parish and his community.
Among his many talents and interests, Chuck was an incredibly gifted wood craftsman, winning the state of New Jersey's woodworking competition during his senior year of high school. He was athletic throughout his life, from high school sports, to cycling 290 miles from Plattsburgh Air Force Base to West Paterson, NJ, to becoming the Florida State Handball Champion in 1980.
In addition to his mother and stepfather, Chuck was preceded in death by the first love of his life and the mother of his children, Patricia Ann Dreher.
Chuck leaves behind to cherish his memory the second love of his life, his wife, Jean Traylor Dreher; his daughter, Amy Fogarty Fenton (Chuck); his son, Shane Fogarty Dreher (Wendy); his stepsons, Dr. Kenneth Traylor Jr. of Denver, CO, Kevin Traylor of Brunswick, and Kristian Traylor of Atlanta; his stepdaughters, Karen Canavan (Kevin) of Jacksonville, FL, and Kelly Flint (Jason) of Mayo, FL; his beloved grandsons, Chase Fenton, Gavin Dreher, Aidan Fenton, and Leo Dreher; 10 step-grandchildren and 2 step- greatgrandchildren; his brothers Eugene Dreher and Joseph Bochicco and his sister Susan Bochicco Dyer, along with many nieces and nephews.
His legacy lives on in all of us who had the blessing of knowing him — lifted up by him to be our best selves, and to always care for and help others.
The family will receive friends at Cleveland First Methodist Church, 112 E Kytle Street, Cleveland, GA, at 10am on August 1st, immediately followed by a service at 12pm to celebrate Chuck's life, Pastor Brian Alexander will officiate.
Flowers will be graciously acknowledged; however, Chuck has requested that donations be made in his memory to Cleveland First Methodist Church, to help continue building the parish he cared for and loved so deeply.
