Charles Edward Pearce, age 76, of Sautee, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Charles was born on February 5, 1949, to Elva Kathleen Mangham and Austin Bryant Pearce in Camp Hood, Texas. As a young man, Charles entered the Air Force and spent several years as a jet engine mechanic. In 1980, Charles moved to Atlanta, GA where he met and fell in love with his wife, Cherie Jan Sanders who was the daughter of Air Force Colonel, Corban H. Sanders. Charles was fond of telling everyone proudly that he “married the Colonel’s daughter!”. Charles loved music and was proficient at the bass guitar. He was a member of Southern Drawl, a band which enjoyed jamming together and performed in many small venues around the Atlanta area. Charles also loved tinkering with guitars and sound system equipment. He would acquire pieces at yard sales, fix them up and sell them on eBay. Charles was a hustler and could wheel and deal with the best of them. He also never met a stranger and made friends wherever he went. Charles and CJ moved to beautiful Sky Lake, Sautee Nacoochee, around three years ago. Charles is survived by his wife of 42 years, CJ; Brother-in-law, Daniel (Amanda) Sanders; nephew, Trenton (Sarah) Sanders and niece, Jennica Sanders. Private services will be held.
