Charles Clyde Sanders Jr.

June 20, 1959 — January 12, 2024

Charles C "Chuck" Sanders, of Cleveland, Georgia, passed away Friday, January 12, 2024, after an extended illness. The family will have a time of visitation on Tuesday, January 16th from 11:00 am until 1:00 p.m. with Chuck's Celebration of life beginning at 1:00 at Barrett Funeral Home in Cleveland Georgia, officiated by Pastor Rick Parsons. Flowers are accepted, but we would suggest donating to the Gideon International in Chucks memory. Chuck was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Charlie and Shirley (Forte) Sanders. In his early days, many memories were made playing softball for Pine Forest Baptist Church on team blue. He made the biggest decision of his life when he was baptized at Pine Forest in 1977. He graduated from Windsor Academy. He was married to his wife, Kay Causey Sanders, just shy of 46 years. They were blessed with one daughter, Brittney, in 1985. In 1990, they moved from Macon to Lake Sinclair in Milledgeville where they spent many years loving the lake life. Fishing and fast boats became an everyday hobby. In 1997 they fell in love with the North Ga mountains and moved "to the hills". Chuck worked as a Branch Manager and then A Safety Training coordinator for Blossman Gas, which he traveled to many states and made many friends along the way. Chuck's favorite things consisted of being the Georgia Bulldogs biggest fan, watching his grandson Knox play baseball, gardening, playing cornhole, grilling, finding new recipes and eating his hometown favorite NuWay hot dogs "all the way". Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Shirley Sanders, and his grandparents Ruby and Fred Forte. Chuck is survived by his wife, Kay C Sanders; daughter, Brittney (Kevin) Nix; grandchildren, Knox, and Bristol, all of Cleveland Ga; sisters, Dianne Newberry of Marietta and Nancy (Roger) Childree of Reynolds Ga.
