Mr. Charles Leonard Sturrup age 76 of Cleveland passed away Saturday August 11, 2007 at Northeast Ga Medical Center.
Mr Sturrup was born in Dade County Florida June 16, 1931 the son of the late Charles H. and Glory Jaycocks Sturrup. He graduated from Miami Edison High School in Miami Florida. Mr. Sturrup was the owner of Sturrup’s Nursery Landscaping Company for 46 years in Kendall, Florida. He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul F. Sturrup, sister and brother in law, Juanita and Joseph F. Brazelton all of Miami, Florida. Mr. Sturrup attended Mount Yonah Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Imagene (Wickey) Sturrup, Cleveland; son and daughter in law, Charles Merrick and Kathy Sturrup, Cleveland; aunt and uncle, Ladd and Ottolee Jaycocks, Key West, FL. And a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 6 P.M. Tuesday August 14, 2007 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. John Yarbrough will officiate. Interment will be 3 P.M. Friday August 17, 2007 at Woodlawn Park Cemetery in Miami, Florida.
The family will receive friends 3-6 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
