Chester Thompson

Chester Avery Thompson, age 91 of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018.   Mr. Thompson was born January 14, 1927 in Cleveland, GA to the late Claud E. Thompson and Pauline Bentley Thompson. Chester was a cabinet maker and a veteran of the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Thompson; sons, Terry Thompson and Irvin Thompson.   Survivors include his son, Jeff Thompson, Montrose, GA; grandson, Jeffrey Charles Thompson, Woodstock, GA; granddaughter, Melissa Thompson, Dahlonega, GA; sister, Mary Thompson.   Funeral services are scheduled from 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Gary Heffner will officiate. Interment will follow at Chattahoochee Baptist Church Cemetery.   The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M.
