Clarence Alexander Stamey

Mr. Clarence Alexander (C.A.) Stamey age 86 of Cleveland passed away Monday July 12, 2010 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Stamey was born in Batesville Georgia the son of the late Samuel Edison and Lillie Paralee Barron Stamey. He was preceded in death by his wife, Polly Head Stamey, brothers, Loyd Morrison, Hubert Garrison Stamey and sister, Minnie Stamey Langford. Mr. Stamey was a retired auto dealer and owned Stamey Chevrolet in Cleveland. He was a member of Cleveland United Methodist Church, a former member of the Cleveland Kiwanis Club, White County Rotary Club, Mt. Yonah Masonic Lodge #382 F & AM, Shriners and a former Director at White County Bank. Survivors include daughter and Companion, Claudia Head Deviney & Bodo Brathe, Edenton, NC; daughter and son in law, Joan Head Brown and Joe Brown, Cleveland; son, James Myles Head, Cleveland; brother, Samuel Willard Stamey, Cleveland; sisters, Ruby Stamey Benfield, Ruth Stamey Anderson, both of Clarkesville, Willene Stamey Terrazas, Cumming; grandchildren, Jake & Crystal Brown, Justin Brown, both of Cleveland, Emily Head, San Antonio, TX; great grandchildren, Ansley Josephine Brown, Hunter Carroll’Loy Brown. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday July 14, 2010 at Cleveland United Methodist Church. The Rev. Emory Brackman, the Rev. Richard Huycke and the Rev. Teresa Anderson Franklin will officiate. Interment will be in Cleveland Cemetery. Mr. Stamey will be placed in the Church at 10:30 A.M. The family will receive friends 3-5 & 7-9 P.M.
