Claude Meeks Lovell

Mr. Claude Meeks Lovell, age 87 of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, March 06, 2008 at Habersham County Medical following an extended illness. Mr. Lovell was born in White County on January 22, 1921 to the late Jesse and Ollie Fincannon Lovell. He was also preceded in death by his son Chris Lovell and grandson Bruce Jones. He was a farmer and was in the furniture industry. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in WWII and was member of Union Grove Holiness Church. Mr. Lovell was the last of his immediate family. Survivors include his wife of 68 years: Bernice Alexander Lovell, Cleveland; daughters: Brenda Allen, Baldwin; Doris Jones, Cleveland; daughters and sons-in-law: Sharon & Rondal Dockery, Cleveland, Claudine & Gilbert Propes, Cornelia, and Maxine & Gerald Adamson, Lula; sons and daughters-in-law: Harold & Regina Lovell, Cleveland and David & Patti Lovell, Cleveland; 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 8, 2008 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Flynn and Rev. Gerald Adamson officiating. Interment will follow in Gateway Memory Park. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-9 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
