Connie Palmer Schapansky Smith

Connie Ray Palmer Schapansky Smith, age 82, passed away August 18th, 2020. Connie was a member of the Helen Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder. She Graduated from White County High School in 1956, and graduated from the University of Georgia, where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega. She began teaching in 1961 in the White County School system and stayed until she retired in 1991. She is survived by her sister; Sabra Bryson (Brian) of Cleveland, GA, children; Linda Schapansky of St. Augustine, FL, Larry Schapansky of Cleveland, GA, and Sherri Gerrell (Ricky) of Cleveland, GA along with Lisa Jones (Rod) of Atlanta, Wendy Kline (Derek) of Villa Rica, and David Smith “Doc”, of New Orleans as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents, Garrison Palmer and Beatrice Manntiz, husbands; Lloyd D Schapansky and Charles H. Smith, sisters; Sharon Palmer Snell and Delores Palmer Wait and her stepfather, Gunnard Nygaard. A private graveside service will be held for family.
