Cora Belle Chastain

Cora Bell Chastain, age 93 of Gainesville, passed away Saturday December 24, 2016.   Mrs. Chastain was born May 5, 1923 in Jasper, GA to the late Dolph and Rora Mae Moss Poole. Cora worked for the US Forest Service and was a member of Union Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Elmer Chastain, daughters, Linda Miler, Dolly Tanksley, son, Tommy Chastain, grandchildren, Rita Dixon, Allen Dixon Jr., Paula Jeanine Miller, Toby Ray Neal Miller, Royce Hill, great grandchild, Patrick Dixon, brothers, Bob Poole, Lanier Poole, Leo Poole and sister, Lois Poole.   Survivors include her daughters, Cora Sue Dixon, Clarkesville; Betty Allen, Demorest; Judy Grindle, Gainesville; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Ray Farrell; sister, Hazel Mullinax; brother, Charlie Poole; sister-in-law, Sherry Poole, all of Jasper; 17 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.   Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Chris York will officiate.
