Mrs. Cora McCollum Stovall, age 100 of the Blue Creek Community in Cleveland passed away on Wednesday, November 07, 2007 at the Habersham County Medical Center in Demorest following a brief illness.
Born in White County, Georgia on January 21, 1907, she was the daughter of the late Garnett W. and Nancy Harper McCollum. Mrs. Stovall was a life-long resident of White County, a homemaker, and a member of the Blue Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred F. Stovall, son, Wayne Stovall, daughter and son-in-law, Iva Lee and Charles Stinson, granddaughter, Nancy Womack, brothers, Paul McCollum, Mack McCollum, Marvin McCollum, Sr. and a sister, Katie Lula McCollum Miles.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn S. and Don Lacy, Cleveland; daughter-in-law, Allene Stovall, Gainesville; grandchildren, Janice Szwast, Canton, GA; Brenda Cain, Gainesville; David Stovall, Hiawassee; Melvin Stovall; Elberton; Michael Stinson, Cleveland; Carol Wood, Decatur; Andrea Duncan, Dalton; 12 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Katie E. McCollum, Cleveland; Lucy Stovall, Gainesville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2007 at the Blue Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Dave Fortner and the Rev. Bob Cain officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with the Rev. Milton Harris officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Friday.
