Corbett McKinley Baker, age 81 of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Baker was born on September 3, 1933, in Cleveland, GA, to the late Lester and Myrtle Edwards Baker. He pastored Zion Hill Baptist Church for 18 years, where he was also a charter member. He was preceded in death by brothers, Frank Baker and James Baker; sisters, Ruth Hopkins and Lula Bell Moss; son-in-law, Tom Craig. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Baker, Cleveland; son, Jonathan Baker, Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law, David and Leigh Baker, Dawsonville; daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and Gary Lyle, Mt. Airy; daughter, Kim Craig, Oak Ridge, TN; grandchildren, Josh Allen, Aimee Cronemeyer, Allie Taylor, Anna Craig; great granddaughter, India Piper Allen; brother, Buford Baker, Cleveland; sisters, Fannie Baker, Cleveland, and Ellen Gunnell, Danville, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 A.M. Friday, January 9, 2015 at Zion Hill Baptist Church – 708 S. Main Street, Cleveland, GA 30528. Brother Jack Hicks and Pastor Aaron King will officiate. Interment will follow in Cleveland Historic Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
