Cosby Chastain

Harrison “Cosby” Chastain, age 81, of Clayton, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. Mr. Chastain was born on January 14, 1943, in Sautee, Georgia to the late Sylvester and Floyd York Chastain. He was the owner of Chastain Tree and retired from Davey Tree Company. Cosby loved antique cars, especially Fords. He loved his family and friends; especially his grandchildren who were the apples of his eye. In addition to his parents, Mr. Chastain was preceded in death by his wife, Sabrina Shirley Chastain; and siblings, Calvin Chastain and Barney Chastain. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn McCay Chastain; son, Kwentin Chastain (Renee Whitmire); stepson, Dustin Brown (Megan); step-daughter, Casey Brown (David Bristol); grandchildren, Krew Cosby Chastain, Parklan Jewel Chastain, Dawson Brown, Ryker Brown, and Wyatt Tanksley; brother, Charles Chastain (Frances); sister, Ann Carlyle (Kenneth); brother-in-law, Stanley Shirley (Renee); brother-in-law, Danny McCay (Wanda); mother-in-law, Frances Stovall McCay; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members also survive. Memorial services are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Sunday, November 3, 2024, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Bill Gravely will officiate. The family invites everyone to stay after the service for a dinner reception at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 P.M.
