Curtis Bob Revell, Sr. passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023, in Cleveland, Georgia. Bob was born on June 14, 1930, in a work camp in Titusville, Florida during the Great Depression. Bob was a graduate of Miami Senior High School in Miami, Florida in 1950. In 1955, he was drafted into the U.S. Navy and after training in Long Island, NY - he was transferred to an aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean Sea post-Korean war. He returned in 1957 and, the following year Sara and Bob started a family. In 1959 he joined the Miami-Dade Fire Department as a driver. He saved many lives during his 25 years of service. He was the Secretary of The Fireman's Benevolent Association in Miami-Dade County for many years. After moving to Helen in 1983, he started Tanglewood Cabins. Tanglewood is still being run by his son and daughter-in-law. He loved the community in which he lived in. He volunteered at Fire Station 7 in Sautee, played Santa for many years, was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, and volunteered with the Lions Club. He is known as Peepaw to his friends and family. Survived by Sharon McConnell (George), Kathy Richards (Gary J.), Robyn Addison (Gary L.), and Curtis Revell, Jr. (Bridgett). He was blessed by 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by wife Sara of 56 years, his parents Taylor and Frances, his older sister Hazel Stephens, his younger sister June Shaner and his great-grandson, J.J. Richards. Loved by many - missed by all. Graveside services are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
