David Motte Jr.

Mr. David M. Motte, Jr. age 66, of Cleveland passed away Monday, December 15, 2008 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Motte was born on January 14, 1942 in New Hanover County, NC to the late David Mac and Annie Lila Covil Motte. He was a salesman and manager in the paper industry. Mr. Motte was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Vietnam. Survivors include his wife: Carol Edwards Motte, Cleveland; daughter: Suzanne K. Motte, Greenville, SC; sons: David H. Motte, Kansas City, MI and Troy S. Motte, Austin, TX; stepchildren: Jeff L. Cornwell, Canton and Shelia Digiacomo, Braselton; sisters: Shirley & Ralph Nilles, and Joyce & Fred Griffith, both of Boone, NC; Maxcyne & Ray Yaworsky, Ogden, UT; and 7 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 19, 2008 from The Wood Mortuary Chapel. with the Rev. Bud Griffith officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland East Memorial Park in Simpsonville, SC. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday at Barrett Funeral Home and From 6-8 PM Thursday at The Wood Mortuary in Greer, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe made to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, 2150 Limestone Pkwy, Suite 222, Gainesville, GA 30501. Barrett Funeral Home of Cleveland in charge of local arrangements.
