Mr. David Ricky Wilbanks, age 76, of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2026.

Mr. Wilbanks was born on November 20, 1949. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His family was the center of his life. He was known for his quiet strength and the love he showed through his actions.

Known as “Pop” to his family, David worked for many years as a sawmiller and logger, jobs that reflected his hardworking nature. In addition, he enjoyed repairing small engines in his shop, where he could often be found fixing, tinkering, and helping others. He loved being outdoors, especially working with his chainsaw and spending time on his tractor doing the kind of work he enjoyed most.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Ruth Smith Wilbanks, and his father, David “Sevier” Wilbanks.

Survivors include his loving wife, Gail Kinsey Wilbanks; his sister, Lucy Ayers; his children, Kelly Morris (RC), Kyle Wilbanks (Brandi), and Kacey Worley (Mitch); and his grandchildren, Brooklyn Morris, Owen Wilbanks, Emory Wilbanks, Kate Wilbanks, Henry Wilbanks, and Madison Worley, who were a great joy in his life.

Above all, David loved Jesus. His faith was an important part of his life, and he found comfort and guidance in reading his Bible. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 P.M. Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the funeral home. Funeral services will follow at 4 P.M., from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. Rev. Chris Anderson will officiate. Interment will follow in Chattahoochee Baptist Church Cemetery.
