Dennis "Pop" Anderson

Dennis “Pop” Anderson, age 77 of Alto, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Anderson was born February 9, 1933 in Mt. Airy to the late Ezekiel and Lydia Ayers Anderson. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and the Sunday School Superintendent. He was employed by Mt. Vernon Mills for 40 years. Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his wife Elora Miller Anderson. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Mack and Sandra Anderson, Alto; grandchildren and spouses, Amy and Sterling McAllister, Alto; Luke and Nikki Anderson, Gwinnett; Paula and Randy Martin, Gainesville; Pam York, Atlanta; Patty Ellison, Flowery Branch; sisters, Eva Chandler, Toccoa; Bernice Caudell, Cornelia; brother, Arthur Anderson, Macon and 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM Sunday, August 29, 2010 from Enon Baptist Church. The Rev. Chris Anderson, Rev. Donnie Ballenger, Rev. Craig Summitt and Rev. Bill Carpenter will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Anderson will lie in state from 2:30-3:00 prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 2-9 PM Saturday at Enon Baptist Church.
