Donald Carpenter, age 97, of Cleveland, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Mr. Carpenter was born on May 28, 1928, in Pontiac, Michigan, to the late Leonard Carpenter, Jr. and Fannie West Carpenter. Don worked for General Motors and was a member of New Haven Congregational Holiness Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Donald Randolph Carpenter and Dennis Paul Carpenter; grandchild, Christopher Carpenter. Survivors include his wife, Betty Jo Carpenter; daughters, Linda Greer and Susan Carpenter; grandchildren, Stephanie Michaud (Kenny Michaud), Elizabeth Pyles (Jose Filpo), Nicholas Carpenter (Jesica Carpenter), Nathan Carpenter (Rachel Carpenter), Tara Wormnest (Jeff Wormnest), and David Greer; great-grandchildren, Marissa Michaud (Adam Gregory), Dylan Michaud, Cohen Michaud, Jacob Wormnest, Antonio Negron (Latisha Negron), Jake Sewell, Dan Sowell, Kaylynn Greer, and Christopher Ortega; great-great-grandchildren, Dominic Ortega and Adalynd Gregory. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Sunday, September 14, 2025, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The service will be live streamed and can be viewed at: https://youtube.com/live/HMKc1U-M6kA?feature=share The Rev. Chris Anderson will officiate. Interment will follow in Gateway Memory Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home, prior to the funeral service.
