Dorothy Pauline Adams

Mrs. Dorothy Pauline Abernathy Adams, beloved Mother and Granny passed peacefully into eternal life Tuesday, December 27, 2011 following a ten year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Mrs. Adams was born September 28, 1924 to the late W. L Abernathy and Martha Nix Abernathy of Cleveland. She was preceded in death by a son, George Wayne Adams and great grand-daughter Torie Hallene Warwick; brothers: Robert, Sherman, Bill, Otis and Henry Abernathy and half brother James Abernathy. She is survived by daughter Kathy Cathey and grand-daughter Amy Cathey of the home; daughter and husband, Patricia and Dwight Warwick, Cleveland; grand-children: Leslie and Scott Slaton, Cleveland; Paul and Charlene Warwick, Gainesville; Jill and Rodney Worley, Sautee; grandson: Melvin Cathey, Cleveland; great-grandchildren: Zackery and Joshua Slaton, Cleveland; Carla and Austin Cathey, Cleveland; Morgan Partin, Cleveland; Kody Partin, Sautee and Cullen and Ashley Warwick, Gainesville; sister: Olean Turner, Cleveland and half-sister, Sarah Waters, Homer and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by the Rev. Scott Slaton and Rev. Paul Flynn. Burial will follow in Mt. Yonah Baptist Church Cemetery. There will be visitation on Wednesday December 28, 2011 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
