Dorothy Shaffer

Dorothy Shaffer, age 87, of Watkinsville, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021. Mrs. Shaffer was born on September 6, 1933, in Wayne County, GA to the late Dennis Griffis and Alma Flowers Griffis. On August 29, 1953, she married Merle Shaffer. Dorothy was retired from the Department of Corrections where she worked as a secretary. Before moving to Watkinsville, she was a member of Mt. Yonah Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Merle Shaffer. She is survived by her sons, Timothy (Sandi) Shaffer and Stephen Shaffer; grandchildren, Logan Shaffer, Camille (Taylor) Cheek, Allyson Shaffer and one brother and three sisters.
