Dorothy Walden

Dorothy Virginia Walden, age 89 of Lula, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 at   Mrs. Walden was born on January 21, 1928, in White County, to the late Tillman and Sallie Louise Cagle. She was a member of Skitts Mountain Baptist Church. Mrs. Walden married Thomas M. Walden and they lived in Hall County. She worked for Talon Manufacturing in Cleveland, GA for five years then J.D. Jewels in Gainesville for several years. Dorothy also worked for Leece Neville for fifteen years as an inspector, Western Electric, TRW, and Milner’s Womens Clothing. Dorothy helped her husband, Thomas, raise chickens and worked in their grape vineyards for many years. She and Thomas always made a huge garden and shared with family and friends.   Mrs. Walden was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Walden; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bessie Mae and Young Martin, Mattie Bell and Jiles Baugh, Zoralee Cagle, A. Marie and Harmon Savage; brother and sisters-in-law, William Franklin and Eunice Cagle, Dennis and Flonnie Cagle; sisters-in-law, Sara Rogers, Annie Bell Motes, Mary E. Walden, Louise Pierce, Hattie Mae Walden, Mattie Walden; brothers-in-law, Spencer Walden, Louis Walden, W.L. Savage, Hugh Walden; sister and brother-in-law, James Harold and Irene Walden. Survivors include her brother in law, Dennis Pierce; brother in law and sister in law, L.B. and Mildred Walden; sisters in laws, Loraine Savage, Mary Mansard Walden, Bobbie Walden; a host of nieces and nephews also survive.   Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday December 4, 2017 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Michael Wilkes and the Rev. Doug Watson will officiate.
