Douglas Eugene (Gene) Brown

Mr. Gene Brown age 64 of Cleveland passed away Friday May 16, 2008 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Brown was born in White County where he lived all of his life. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Brown. Mr. Brown was retired from Standard Telephone where he had worked for 33 years. He was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church where he was a member of Young at Heart and received the Paul Harris Award from Rotary Club. Survivors include his wife, Ginger Brown, Cleveland; sons and daughters in law, Tim and Lydia Brown, Tom and Connie Brown, all of Cleveland; granddaughters, Lauren Brown, High Point, NC., Elizabeth Brown, Emily Brown, both of Cleveland; mother, Christine Brown, Cleveland; brothers and sisters in law, Marvin and Margie Brown, Ricky and Trish Brown, all of Cleveland, Randall and Amy Brown, Pendergrass; sister and brother in law, Janette and Charles Collins, Cleveland; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday May 18, 2008 at Shoal Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Chris Anderson, Dr. Joe Vernon, Rev. Loyd Martin and Rev. Gary Heffner will officiate.
