Edward "Eddie" Allen

Edward “Eddie” Richard Allen, age 63, of Cleveland, passed away on May 11, 2023. Mr. Allen was born on May 3, 1960, in Gainesville, Georgia, to Leona Ledford Allen and the late Edward Allen. He worked at Allen’s Body Shop and Wildwood Outfitters. Eddie was a man of many talents, including tennis, canoeing, a musician, and a friend to many. He was an open-boat champion for many years and enjoyed paddling many bodies of water. In addition to his father, Eddie was preceded in death by his sister, Beth Allen; niece-in-law, Emily Pursley. Survivors include his daughter, Kelanah Allen; mother, Leona Allen; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Flip Black; brother, Bruce Allen; nieces and nephews, Brittany, Derrica, Jeremy, and Levi; great-niece, Blakely. Graveside Celebration of Life services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 15, 2023, at Gateway Memory Park. The Rev. Dennis Turner and the Rev. Jesse Gibson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:30 P.M. Monday, at the funeral home, prior to the graveside service. The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses of The Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, for their care and compassion to Eddie during this time.
