Edwin "Nub" Meaders

Edwin “Nub” Meaders, age 94 of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Meaders was born March 1, 1921 in Cleveland to the late Cheever and Arie Waldrup Meaders. He was preceded in death by his brothers, John Meaders, Reggie Meaders, Lanier Meaders, sisters, Margie Meaders Savage and Annie Meaders Clark. Mr. Meaders was a part of the Meaders Pottery Family, he made pottery for 47 years and was well known for his blue roosters. He was featured in the Fox Fire Book #8 and his work is displayed in the Sautee Nacoochee Museum. Survivors include his daughters, Hazel Virginia Meaders, Cleveland; Kathleen Meaders Gibby, Mt. Airy; daughter and son-in-law, Treva Meaders Patterson and Larry Patterson, Lavonia; son, Bruce LaWayne Meaders, Cleveland; sisters, Althea Meaders Loggins, Lula; Ruby Meaders Irvin, Cleveland; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, September 25, 2015 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. Mr. Bill House and Mr. Emory Jones will officiate.
