Elizabeth Abernathy

Mrs. Elizabeth M. Abernathy, age 72, of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014. Mrs. Abernathy was born in Habersham County, the daughter of the late Ed and Mary Fennell Meeks. She was preceded in death by her husband, Davis Abernathy, son, Ted Abernathy and son in law, Richard Adams. Mrs. Abernathy was a former owner of Cleveland Florist, Habersham Flowerland and she was a registered nurse. She was a former Sunday School Teacher and Youth Director at Mt. View Baptist Church where she has been a member for 47 years. Survivors include her son, Steve Abernathy, Kingston, WA; daughter, Missy Adams, Helen; daughter in law, Carrie Abernathy, Silverdale, WA.; grandchildren, Autumn Adams, Rylee Adams, Jeb Abernathy, Mac Abernathy, Bradley Abernathy, Luke Abernathy, Ben Abernathy; sisters- in- law, Evelyn Meeks, Ann Tallant, Katherine Bradford; brother-in- law and sister- in- law, Sidney and Ovaline Abernathy; sister- in- law and brother- in- law, Sybil and Morris Biggers. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Dave Fortner will officiate. Interment will be at Yonah View Memorial Gardens.
