Elmer Oscar Nix

Mr. Elmer Oscar Nix, age 88, of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2020. Mr. Nix was born in Murphy, NC to the late William and Litha McClure Nix. He served our nation in the U.S. Navy and fought during the Korean War. He was a proud member of the White County Honor Guard. Mr. Nix was a production line worker for General Motors and a member and deacon at White Creek Baptist Church. He loved fishing and farming. Survivors include wife, Lois Nix, Cleveland; sons and daughters-in-law, Darrell and Laurie Nix, Cleveland and Brian and Angie Nix, Winder; grandchildren, Paige Hehn, Lawrenceville, Emily Nix, Maysville, Stephen and Lauren Welch, Chesapeake, VA, and James Bowers, Cleveland; great-granddaughter, Bella Welch.
