Ethel Autry

Mrs. Ethel Autry, age 85, of Cleveland, passed away, Saturday, January 16, 2010 at a private health care center following an extended illness. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 A.M. Monday from the Cleveland Worship Center. The Rev. Marc Turner, Rev. Aubrey McIntyre, and Rev. James Franklin will officiate. Interment will follow in Gateway Memory Park. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Autry was born on May 7, 1924 to the late Elisha and Cora Howard Thurmond. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rex Wiley Autry Sr.; brothers Carlton Thurmond and Marvin Thurmond; sisters, Kathleen Blalock, Lola Belle Denton, Mary Garmon, Bernice Gerrells, Carmel Alexander, and Iretha West. Mrs. Autry was a homemaker and a member of The Cleveland Worship Center. Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Diane Autry and Darrell Sosebee, Cleveland; son and daughter in law, Rex Wiley Jr. and Nancy Autry, Dallas; sister, Louise Ledford; 3 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and 3 step great grandchildren.
